The Sober Corner

As the days, weeks, months and years of my sobriety have clicked by, I have found that some days I might awaken scared, or anxious, or with my mind racing. It happens to everyone, but for us sober folks we cannot afford to indulge those negative feelings, rather we must find ways to cope in the midst of the ick by using positive strategies so as not to be triggered and default to our bad old habits of drinking and drugging.

Greetings creator, I had a choice this morning, I could go to a café that I love and start working on my computer. Or, I could go to the café and journal and close the gap. I chose the latter and here’s why…

We have all done it at one time or another, have we not? Put other people’s opinions of us, our choices, our passions, our creations before our own feelings? It’s the worst because once we do that, we have handed our Power over to someone who cannot know our decisions or choices, simply because it has taken us a lifetime of living to arrive at them. And yet, it is a mistake that many of us continue to make.

There are those days, those ‘bad’ patches where it feels like life is a struggle, but as with all things my darlings, this too shall pass. And we, WE who understand the laws of the Universe and how to wield them to our advantage through the power of our Focus and our Emotional Guidance Systems, have such a leg up on the rest of humanity, as we have the tools to turn things around. To get thorough the contrast faster. And to use that contrast as fuel for Deliberately Creating the life that we want and truly deserve.

My Truth is the light in my life. My truth lights up my path of least resistance. My Truth heralds my every expansive choice. My Truth celebrates when I close the gaps between where I am and what I desire and most of all, when I create more!
